The skate is a somewhat interme-diate skate that be - the pace is moderate, but don't expect that there is someone to make sure you keep up. Sometimes there will be, sometimes not. It's normally a much larger group than on Mon-days, but exist under the same general "rules", being not organi-zed as such, so no fees or remin-der email or any of that, there's no formal leader, everyone takes care of anyone or no one!
The route being skated is the same every week, so after a few times, you'll feel right at home. The group of people skating there are recreational skaters, they keep a moderate speed at around 10-12mph, but most nights there will be someone there ready to go fast if that's what you like, so no matter your speed, more likely than not, there will be some for you to skate with. Also this group has at least two regular rest points, if you get behind, you will meet again at those stops. They stop at the bar at the end of the Pier, the other stop is at Ferg's Sports Bar on Central Ave (1300 block) - both stops are long enough to buy and enjoy a cooling drink of your preference. The route is about 10 miles, for you to have the best time there, being somewhat able to skate and navigate the city streets with all its bumps etc. will be best. As always skate with hand protection and a helmet - it is not something you have to do, just the smart thing to do! This is the route (some minor changes can occur).
In the summertime there's a group that meet at 6.30pm and skate at 7pm. That group skate at a somewhat faster pace and will not wait for people to keep up. They do stop halfway to wait. The route is 9 miles but can be cut short to about 6 miles.
