This skate takes place every Monday night meet at 6.30pm (or whenever...) be ready to skate at 7pm. Meet at the parking lot (red cross on the map) at the end of 12th Ave. NE on the east side of North Shore Dive NE.The skate is a somewhat beginners skate that be - the pace will be set so everybody that shows up will be able to keep up!
The route being skated is the same every week, so after a few times there, you'll feel right at home.
The group of people skating there are recreational skaters, they keep a moderate speed at around 10 - 12 mph (some will go slower if needed to make sure no one is lost) but most nights there will be someone there ready to go fast if that's what you like. So no matter your speed, most like than not, there will be some for you to skate with.
The route is about 7miles, for you to have the best time there, being somewhat able to skate and navigate the city streets with all its bumps etc. will be good, but not a must. If you have just bought your skates, show up, more likely than not, there will be someone there ready to help you get going.
The skate is not organized as such, so no fees or reminder email or any of that, there's no formal leader, everyone takes care of anyone.
As always skate with hand protection and a helmet - it is not something you have to do, just the smart thing to do!
